The Institute of Patagonia, founded in 1969 and incorporated into the University of Magallanes since 1985, is a research and study center focused on the southern region of the Americas, particularly Magallanes. Its ongoing objectives are to contribute to the knowledge, development, and dissemination of human and natural sciences, specifically regarding human events over time and the characteristics of natural ecosystems.
