Cultural and Heritage Development Area

This area is responsible for managing and implementing actions that contribute to cultural and heritage development by promoting our university and fostering a close relationship with the community. It generates presence and initiatives through cultural projects that have reached a significant portion of our region via various cultural programs.

These programs have systematized community and institutional learning, adopting a multicultural approach that opens doors to both university students and the regional community. Work proposals have been developed in alignment with the principles of the Community Engagement Policies, based on collaboration between the arts, sciences, and education. Mechanisms for artistic dissemination and cultural mediation have been established, strengthening collaborative work with local communities. Since 2022, this methodology has been incorporated as a bidirectional mechanism for cultural engagement.

Key Activities:

  • Permanent workshops with the UMAG seal: Theater, Choir, Orchestra, and Folklore.
  • University extension activities: Organization of cultural events, workshops, cinema, photography, etc.

Collaborative networks among universities in Patagonia, known as the Cultural Patagonia Network, along with the Network of Arts and Humanities (Udes of CUECH), have helped to strengthen culture from a state perspective and within the territory.
