Description
The Academic Vice-Rectorate (VRAC) is the unit responsible for the management and development of the institution’s academic strategy and processes. Its strategic objective is to train professionals and technicians with the competencies required to effectively integrate into the labor market. The Academic Vice-Rector is the senior official responsible for the development, administration, and coordination of the university’s academic affairs, second only to the Rector. In carrying out their functions, they must propose plans and actions in academic matters, meeting and consulting with Deans and faculty members. They can appoint committees of professors to assist in their management. In the absence of the Rector, they will have the powers and perform the duties of the Rector.
Specific Functions
- Define the Institutional Academic Policies regarding undergraduate education.
- Generate and implement strategies for operationalizing the Institutional Academic Policies related to undergraduate education through dependent technical units, Deanships, and Department Directors.
- Evaluate undergraduate education processes: curricular design of programs; staffing and management of the academic body; planning and management of teaching support resources; student selection and admission; student progression; accreditation of programs.
- Analyze updated information on Academic Management indicators for timely decision-making.
