The Board of Directors is a collegiate body, and according to Article 5 of the Statute of the University of Magallanes, D.F.L. No. 154, dated December 11, 1981, it is composed of (a) three Directors appointed by the President of the Republic, who will remain in their positions as long as they have the President’s confidence; (b) three Directors appointed by the Academic Council from among distinguished university graduates who do not hold any position within the University; (c) three Directors appointed by the Academic Council from among Full Professors and Associate Professors, whether or not they are Adjuncts, with this position being incompatible with any other managerial role within the University.
